The artist has transformed the gallery space into installations featuring surreal robotic characters using pieces of furniture, musical boxes and and also created some sculptures with moving mechanisms, including Michelone, an edition of 10 handmade and articulated robots . The new body of works with acrylic and pencil on wood, showcases robotic figures that explore the circle of life, from the moment they grow while also making and learning from mistakes. The show also displays an antique customised sketchbook ‘Memory of Our Life’ containing 34 hand drawn sketches in ink.

London: Alex Chinneck car installation

Alex Chinneck - London

Hackney-based artist  Alex Chinneck created an illusionary public installation titled Pick Yourself Up and Pull Yourself Together. Located on a car park in London SouthBank, a Vauxall Corsa looks suspended in the air over 4.5 meter high upside down on a wave-shaped portion of tarmac that seems peeled back from the ground and folded back on itself.
