Anthony Lister at POW

Fresh from his recent trip to Berlin, Australian artist Anthony Lister has been hitting the streets of London with new murals and stickers. Lister has also been busy customizing his latest series of prints at Pictures On Walls.

Launching this Thursday, the show is featuring a series of 100 hand finished unique Fan Boy prints, described as halfway between an original painting and a screenprint, as well as a collection of paintings, in-situ installations and stickers.

Opening – Jamie Woods’ new gallery Whisper

To celebrate the launch of Jamie Wood’s new gallery were  collectors Martin Summers and Basia & Richard Briggs OBE, Simon and Yasmin Mills, and Made in Chelsea’s Amber Atherton. Jamie’s brother Tyrone, who is Director of Scream gallery in Mayfair, and his mother Jo were both there to support Jamie’s new venture, as was artist Bruce French who has created new limited edition prints for the inaugural exhibition.

Artists, rock royalty, fashion designers and models came in force for the opening of LA graffiti artist RETNA’s Hallelujah World Tour in London, which is the second part of a three stop world tour.

The exhibition features a series of 30 new works fusing a variety of different mediums including drawing, painting and poetry.

As part of the project, RETNA is creating a unique work on the tail of one of VistaJet’s Global Express XRS aircraft. The tour began in New York in February 2011 and will conclude with an exhibition in Hong Kong later this year.

Andipa Gallery  is hosting a Banksy / War Boutique exhibition , presenting a collection of original  works by two mavericks of urban art – one just emerging onto the international stage, choosing to put on his first commercial exhibition at Andipa, and one already recognised as amongst the biggest names in contemporary art today.

The show includes an unparalleled collection of sought after original paintings by Banksy, from the collection of Andipa Gallery, in the ground floor gallery.

New works by War Boutique are on show in the lower ground floor gallery.
Using textiles, bullet proof ceramics, shells and bomb blankets as the conduit to express his ideas, the artist known as War Boutique “symbolically transforms instruments of war and destruction into constructive items embodying creativity, peace and critical social commentary.” Society for Contemporary Craft.

Paris (FR): Space Invader ‘Invader 1000’ exhibition

Space Invader “INVADER 1000″ Exhibition

Returning to Paris after 6 years, French street artist Space Invader is holding his ‘Invader 1000’ exhibition in La Generale building until July 2.

The solo show celebrates the notorious Parisian artist’s thousanth piece being placed on the streets. It features the artists’ carefully documented work from cities across the globe including “invasion maps”, photographs, stickers, rubcubism installations, a speed ball machine and, of course, his custom mosaics.

Visitors were also treated to tasty customised waffles, while listening to a music selection from a very special jukebox.
