Crimes of Minds - Sowat

During 3 years the Crimes of Minds project invited local and international artists to create 21 murals across the city of Brest (France), transforming the city into an urban art museum.  To celebrate the end of the project and launch of a book documenting the process, a retrospective exhibition has been organized within 22000 sq meters former warehouse, a perfect opportunity for artists to display artworks but also perform some  live painting.

We attended the opening of “The Many Faces of David Bowie” at the Opera Gallery London (previewed here) where contemporary and street artists pay tribute to the iconic rock star.

Participating artists include: Lita Cabellut, David Mach, Joe Black, C215, The London Police, Mac1, Jimmy C, Kid Zoom, Mr. Brainwash, Kan (Da Mental Vaporz), Juan Barletta, Hisham Echafaki, Jef Aérosol, D*Face, Marco Lodola, André Monet, Nick Gentry, Zoobs, Eduardo Guelfenbein, Paul Alexis, Jean-Paul Donadini, Richard Young.

From June 21st, Opera Gallery London will be pleased to present a collection of David Bowie-inspired art, in parallel to the Victoria and Albert Museum milestone retrospective “David Bowie Is“. The group exhibition “The many faces of David Bowie” will offer a contemporary vision of ‘Bowie Mania’ with one-off masterpieces including tributes from some of today’s leading contemporary and street artists.

Paying homage to the iconic rock star with a creative juxtaposition of styles and techniques, it will showcase each artist’s unique interpretation of David Bowie’s unprecedented influence and inspiration on their lives.

David Bowie has endorsed the exhibition on both his official Facebook page and official website.

Paris Match group show at Opera Gallery

Celebrating the 64th anniversary of French magazine Paris Match, in partnership with Opera Gallery in Paris, 19 artists paid tribute by revisiting some of their iconic covers in paintings, sculptures, photos and other mixed media. Participating artists included Speedy Graphito, C215, Blek Le Rat, The London Police, Kan, Dest, Paul Alexis, G.J. Plisson & Brusk, Andre Monet, Gully, Gris1, Brusk, Tilt, Hisham Echafaki, Ron Agam and Zeus.

Opening: C215 & RomanyWG Border Line at Signal Gallery

For the “Border Line” show at Signal Gallery, C215 is exhibiting his stencils together with photographer Jeremy Gibbs aka RomanyWG.

C215 new body of work is exploring the imagery of the artist Caravaggio, and his dramatic and intensely troubled world on the edge of sanity.

Since the past 5 years, RomanyWG has been documenting street art and graffiti and recently joined the ‘Urbex community’ with its exploration of abandoned buildings and industrial facilities.  RomanyWG is showing photographs both from C215’s ‘Community Service’ book and also his recently released ‘Out of Sight’ Urban Art/Abandoned Spaces book.
