London: Vhils – Dissonance @ Lazarides

Vhils - Dissonance

After showing at Lisbon’s EDP Museum and Vestiges, showcased in Paris (see our coverage here) , multidisciplinary Portuguese artist Alexandre Farto aka Vhils is returning to London for a new solo exhibition called ‘Dissonance‘ at Lazarides.

The show reflects on how various factors compose the contemporary urbanised world that is shaping its inhabitants, while personal identities are vanishing under the visual urban noise and surrounding clutter.

The subjects being portrayed disappear through multiple layering of billboards and stratification on metal and wood.

London: Ludo – Chaos Theory

Ludo - Chaos Theory

Following our recent studio visit (see here), we attended the solo exhibition ‘Chaos Theory‘ of French artist Ludo at Lazarides Rathbone in London. Live butterflies were fluttering during the opening much to the delight of onlookers. Inspired by the theory of “The Butterfly Effect,” Ludo decided to focus on a more personal interpretation of his cultural inspirations with a selection of neon green and monochrome canvases.
