Video Teaser : JR – Les Bosquets @Tribeca Festival

French artist JR will be presenting his latest movie “Les Bosquets“, on a music by Hans Zimmer, Pharrell Williams and Woodkid, as a world premiere at the NY Tribeca Film Festival in April. Inspired by Portraits of a Generation (2005), where he shot portraits of residents in the French suburbs during the riots of 2005, and following his New York City ballets projects (2014), JR returns to the guetto of Montfermeil.

The film “Les Bosquets” brings the audience in a place where art, social uproar and the power of image interweave. The film is a continuation of his first project, Portraits of a Generation, for which he uses various means of expression and narration : video archives, choreography and testimony.

The short film will be presented exclusively in galleries and museum shows.

London: Vhils – Dissonance @ Lazarides

The show reflects on how various factors compose the contemporary urbanised world that is shaping its inhabitants, while personal identities are vanishing under the visual urban noise and surrounding clutter.

The subjects being portrayed disappear through multiple layering of billboards and stratification on metal and wood.

Urban Nation PM7

In parallel to the windows and facade they decorated with their Persons of Interest (see here) 12 Brooklyn based artists were given carte blanche to decorate the walls of the Urban Nation Haus for a pop up show in Berlin, where nothing was for sale. Each of the participating artist including Icy & Sot, Don Rimx, Case, Specter, Swoon, NohJColey, Dain, Chris Stain, El Sol 25, Esteban Del Valle and Gaia used their own tools and techniques to create a colourful and ephemeral display directly onto the walls.

Here are some behind the scenes shots:
