San Francisco: Space //Square @ White Walls

blaine_fontana_m
Opening this Saturday 10 May at White Walls in SF, Space//Squared is a group exhibition curated by Sven Davis focused around notions of the architectural landscape.

With a single set criteria of using a 10×10 inch format, over 100 artists have created each a piece of artwork with their own  interpretation of space & form exploring the constructed and natural environment using differing media and techniques .

Accompanying the exhibition, artists Adam Friedman and Robert Minervini will create a site-specific installation inside the gallery space featuring a series of paintings interwoven with mural elements thematically exploring similar territories.

London Streets: Olek

Olek

Polish artist Olek just completed a 26ft crocheted mural on Corbett Place by the Truman Brewery in East London. With her signature intricate and colourful patterns, an embroidered message says Let’s not get caught, Let’s keep going, a quote from Thelma and Louise‘s movie. Olek didn’t get caught and even managed to find time for a tango.

London: Remed & Okuda

Remed & Okuda 2014

For the second year Spanish based artists Remed & Okuda return to London Southbank to celebrate the Streets of Spain festival curated by Campo Viejo. Using their trademark multicolour symbolism both artists painted a glass box live for the delight of the onlookers.
