Copenhagen (DK): Galore Festival 2011

Situated around the cultural area of Valby in Copenhagen, aka Toftegårds Plads and their surrounding culture houses KraftWerket and Valby Culture Centre, the Galore Festival is an uncensored, raw and wild exhibition celebrating several forms of art, from classic art, performance, live painting to sound installations and street art.

Part of the festival saw a 100 meters wall battle between international graffiti artists, which will be up for four months, featuring Da Mental Vaporz (FR), Dreyk The Pirate (GR), Erosie (NL), Graphic Surgery (NL), Grito (ES), Lints (DK), Ripo (US), Scie (IR).

Street Summer on UK TV

The UK Broadcast Channel 4 has partnered with many streets artists including Banksy for a Street Summer galore.

This week-end featured the world premiere of the Oscar nominated movie Exit Through the Gift Shop, as well as a serie of documentaries.

One not to miss, Graffiti Wars examines the creative tensions and conflicts within street art and graffiti. It’s the story of the ongoing Banksy vs. Robbo battle that started out in Camden Regent Canal.

Opening: Boxi – Time of the Signs

Last October, Berlin based artist Boxi painted a large wall in London with his hyperrealistic style combining multi-layered stencils.

The Lazarides Rathbone Gallery is currently featuring some of his paintings for a solo exhibition titled Time of the Signs.

Graffiti Art Magazine #12

For the 3rd year anniversary of GRAFFITI ART magazine, I was pleased to contribute to the #12 Issue and shared my experience of Los Angeles, from the multiple openings to the Art in the Streets exhibition at the MOCA.

If you are not already familiar with this bilingual French/English magazine, Graffiti Art is a cross-functional mag focussing on rising talents as well as confirmed ones across the international scene. Featuring: street art, painting, illustration, photo, design, graffiti… And artists that find their inspiration in both the city and urban space.
